"Double Vision" by Let's Be Friends Again

Did the film really overstress the importance of this line? I didn't think so. Either way, it's pretty funny and Watchmen so it's here. Comic by Let's Be Friends Again

"Presidential Trouble" by Theory of Everything

"Presidential Trouble" by Theory of Everything refferences not only Watchmen but those cheesy fruit pie ads that used to be so common in comic books in the late 80's and early 90's.

WATCHDOGS, a sketch by Neil Gaiman (1986)

Watchmen Comics from The Gun Show

The Gun Show's Watchmen comics portraying Rorschach as a troublesome child are hilarious:

Young Watchmen: Animated Adventures (HOAX)

PRESS RELEASE:

"The world is a very different place in the year 2085, but teen-agers still have to grow up, and the bad guys still need to be taken down!

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Warner Premiere announced today a way for young viewers to connect with one of the most acclaimed graphic novels of all time. “Young Watchmen: The Animated Adventures” draws inspiration from the source material to bring a visually engaging experience to life through the timeless medium of children’s animation!

Young Watchmen returns viewers to the world of the critically acclaimed DC Comics and Hugo award-winning graphic novel by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons…100 years later! When not attending classes at Veidt High, OWLBOY, KID RORSCHACH, SPECTRA, JOHNNY COMEDY, and MANHA-TEEN have banded together to protect the world that their ancestors saved! With the help of OZZY, the World’s Smartest Lynx, they learn to work together, cruise the cyber-malls, and hang out at the nearest Gunga Diner…that is, when they’re not battling Alien Invaders, Supervillains, or the evil hordes of M.O.L.O.C.H.! These young descendants of the original Watchmen have vowed to carry on their legacy and protect the world at all costs. Who watches The Young Watchmen? YOU WILL!"

WATCHMEME: while the photoshop wasn't amazing this was a funny hoax that got some people pretty worried before it was exposed as a joke.

The Perils of Costumed Moviegoing

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a female Dr. Manhattan, kudos to The Joy of Tech.

Ricky Purdin's Watchmen Themed Sketchbook

A Watchmen themed sketchbook is a great idea that I wish I had before I started collecting sketches. This is especially true after seeing the product of Rickey Purdin's choice to start one. His Rorschach by Jason (I Killed Adolf Hitler, The Living and the Dead) and Nite Owl II by Brian Lee O'Malley (Scott Pilgrim) in particular make me very jealous:

Saturday Morning Watchmen by Harry Partridge

"Classic cartoon intro ripped from an old VHS, enjoy!!"

This awesome bit from a non-existent cartoon by Harry Partridge made the rounds real fast. I love when Ozy catches the Comedian before he falls to his death, that and Snarf from Thundercats reborn as Bubastis. Priceless.

OMBUDSMEN by PvP

Using Popeye the Sailor and John Arbuckle from Garfield, Player vs. Player reimagines the scene in which Rorschach first visits the now retired second Nite Owl to let him know that the Comedian has been killed.

"I Did It" by Animoose

This use of one of the final scenes of the Watchmen to describe Alan Moore's complete hatred of what he believes to be the exploitation and commercialization of his work was a truly great idea, note the snake god painting in the background. This work is credited to an artist going by the name of Animoose on whom I can find no information. Please email me if you have any further info on this.

Operation Wrath of God Military Patch

These patches were distributed to select cast and crew at a paintball event that took place on the set of Watchmen at the end of shooting. I believe there are originals and knockoffs now available on ebay.

Nite Owl Comics featuring the Silk Spectre

Rob Ulman created this greated Golden Age style cover for a Nite Owl comic featuring the Silk Spectre as a recreation of Flash Comics # 92. I like the little details, like Hooded Justice in the icon next to the title.
